TUI Skyla was crowned as ‘Wonderland of Winter’ to celebrate its table
TUI River Cruises officially baptized the second ship to join its fleet, TUI Skyla, before embarking on its first voyage on the ‘Mistletoe and Rhine’.
The ceremony was presided over by corporation captain Marco Manka and the ship’s godmother, college examiner Catherine Hawkins. The ship’s upper deck was designed with the theme of ‘Wonderland of Winter’ to celebrate the occasion, with igloo-style backpacks, a live choir, hot chocolate and mulled wine. Glitter stood on the edge of the wharf as TUI Skyla left, marking its official entry into the river cruise fleet.
The Mistletoe and Rhine tour will reach several cities in Germany, including Cologne, Düsseldorf and Koblenz, where guests will be able to visit the local Christmas markets. Passengers will also be able to take part in Christmas activities, drink mulled wine and try regional Christmas dishes while on board.
“We are thrilled to have the second ship for the TUI River Cruises fleet on our first festive voyage of the year,” said Chris Hackney, TUI UK Cruise Manager. “The feedback we have received from guests sailing on TUI Maya, launched back in August, has been amazing so we are happy to offer even more to our guests and we look forward to completing the fleet with TUI Isla next spring.”
