1944 DUKW “Titania” (RSL602) Turn right onto Parliament Square during a tour |
London Duck Tours is a tour company that has operated a fleet of amphibious GMC DUKW aircraft previously built in World War II around London since 2002, including sailing along the River Thames as part of their tour. Unfortunately, the plot that the company used to access the river was compulsorily acquired by Thames Water in September 2017, as it was necessary to build the new Temes Tideway tunnel (a large sewer super). Their loss of skating at Vauxhall prevented London Duck Tours from being able to operate more on the Thames, and had to put their vintage DUKW fleet into storage until such a time in the future that the surfboard would be available again, perhaps in 2022 while these photos were taken in December 2015, the DUKW They were already over 70 years old and still in daily use.
