If you were to go back two years ago and ask us which TripIt features would be most useful to travelers in 2021, we could not have foreseen that these would be tools to navigate travel during a global epidemic.
But two years later, we’re here. And we are proud of the tools, resources and improvements we have presented to help you feel not only more willing to travel safely, but also equipped with the information you need – when you need it – the most.
Take a quick trip with us to test the new tools and improvements we have launched since the beginning of the Corona.
And here’s a closer look at these features, plus the benefits they offer in our changing travel world.
COVID-19 Travel Guides
The travel restrictions associated with COVID-19 are changing and are constantly changing, which means that the decision to travel – and the travel process – is not as simple as it used to be. Earlier this year, we added the COVID-19 Travel Guide Feature to show you the latest COVID-19 travel guidelines, restrictions and requirements – along with sticking rates – for the destinations you visit.
You will also find destination-specific information on vaccination rates and requirements, approved vaccines, testing requirements and exemptions for vaccinated passengers. We have also added airline-specific guidelines for COVID-19, including apps recommended by airlines to assist with travel and entry, availability of COVID-19 tests with airline assistance and more.
TripIt Pro users can also search for the latest COVID-19 travel directions by destination so you can see these details before adding a plan to TripIt.

COVID-19 Summary
Not too long after the above updates, we’ve added a COVID-19 summary screen so you can see vital pre-departure information you may need to take before taking your trip. These pre-flight details include vaccination requirements and tests for your destination, as well as the contact tracking apps recommended by your airline.
Look for iOS
This year we added one of our most requested features for iOS. With a few keywords, you can now search within your trip plans to find trip details like restaurants you booked, hotels you were (or plan to stay), countries or countries you have visited or plan to visit, and soon.
To get started, enter a few keywords – for example, “London Hotel” – into the search bar and the results will start filling up instantly. Then, just click on the program you were looking for, and Walla! You can jump directly to this program and recall the details you need.

Interactive airport maps
We’ve added even more interactive airport maps in TripIt Pro to give you everything you need to navigate quickly and easily at the airport, with detailed directions, walking times, search options, dynamic 3D detail and more.
Over time, we have added health and safety related services to interactive airport maps. For available airports, TripIt Pro users can search interactive maps for the locations of COVID-19 test sites, stores that sell face covers, hand sanitizer stations and personal protective equipment (PPE) machines – all right in the app.
Interactive airport maps are available to TripIt Pro users for more than 105 global airports.

Nearby places
Whether you are looking for a place to eat, drink, pick up supplies or get medical attention, TripIt’s Nearby Places feature makes it easy to find places close to where you are staying.
If you need medical help while traveling, our nearby enhanced locations make it easier to find hospitals, clinics and pharmacies near your place of residence.
The feature will give you the contact details of the medical facility, working hours and more. TripIt will also show you an interactive map with each tagged option so you can see where it is in relation to your accommodations. You can then easily get directions or tap the plus sign (+) to save the information for a later date.

Safety scores in the neighborhood
TripIt’s neighborhood safety score feature helps you learn about the safety of the neighborhood they visit. You can access hyper-local safety ratings along any point on your TripIt itinerary for more than 65,000 cities and neighborhoods, both during the day and at night.
It helps you visualize and gain an understanding of current safety conditions by location. Among the safety categories, you can view a health and medical score – the cause of COVID-19 data – for the area you are visiting.
Because safety looks different to everyone, we enabled the ability to define a personal level of risk in the neighborhood safety score feature. Once you do, we’ll warn you if you plan to visit an area that exceeds your threshold – to help you make more informed decisions while on the go.

Documents
Gone are the days of switching back and forth between your boarding pass and your digital plane and the TripIt app while you do multi-tasking on your way to the airport. Business Travel Receipts Not Submitted on the Frequently Forgotten Tab? Bye.
The addition of the document feature allows you to upload PDF files, photos, boarding pass and QR code of a mobile passport to your travel plans so that everything is in one place. You can add attachments to the details screen for flight, accommodation, car rental, activities and other travel items.
This feature is available to all TripIt users. Anyone can upload three documents for a trip; TripIt Pro users can upload up to 25 travel documents.
