Emerald Cruises’ Emerald Azzurra completes first sea trials

Emerald Cruises’ new ship, Emerald Azura, has completed its sea trials.

The ship left the Ha Long Shipyard, Vietnam, on November 20 at 6 a.m. and completed the test within 48 hours before returning. She will now move on to additional work to complete her interior and exterior, while the combined teams will complete their training.

The maiden voyage of the Emerald Azora will depart on January 28, 2022 and cross the Red Sea. The ship has 50 deluxe suites and guest rooms and can carry 100 guests.

Emerald Cruises now has 10 ships in its fleet, with nine Star Cruises on the river. The tenth star ship, the Emerald Luna, is currently under construction and will join the fleet in the spring of 2022. A yacht on a second, the Emerald Sakara, is expected in early 2023.
