Traditionally, all service councils voted in their November meetings to darken (not meet) in December. The tentative agenda items for January include updates on Metro Micro and the station evaluation plan, as well as the usual summary of regional items of interest. We will provide a list of items in the Service Source’s monthly source post after these agendas are established. Want to get reminders for a meeting with links to the agenda and presentations when they are published? Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate which council agendas you would like to receive.
In other news, one South Bay Service Board member submitted her resignation starting in January. The South Bay Government (COG) has begun a search for a replacement candidate.
Service Board members serve for periods of three years with no term of office. Each year, three of the seats in each council expire on June 30th. The council plans to fulfill the term of the departing council member along with the usually annual appointment process for the three expired seats which is valid July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2025.
If you are interested in serving on the South Bay Service Council, send a brief biography and a brief explanation of why you should be elected to Jackie Bachar, CEO of the South Bay Cities Board at email@example.com. The COG has not yet set a deadline, But usually receives applications by mid-March to allow candidates time to be interviewed before their selection. For more information, contact COG by emailing above or by calling 310-293-2612.
