British Columbia was invited 357 Immigrant Candidates in the two Lotteries of the Provincial Candidate Program (PNP) held on 23 November 2021.
Since February, British Columbia has been hosting two separate rounds of invitations twice a month as part of its PNP program. Due to the high number of people enrolled in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration (SIRS) registration system in certain professions, BC conducted another lottery to balance the needs in all sectors of the provincial labor market.
The minimum scores for that lottery ranged from 71 to 97 points. A total of 258 candidates were invited.
The separate lottery was also held under the SI and EEBC categories and is intended for candidates whose occupation falls under NOC 0621 or NOC 0631. The lottery generated 99 orders with scores of 103 across the board.
So far this year, BC has issued a total of 11,000 orders through various BC PNP streams.
British Columbia PNP
The BC PNP aims to attract highly sought-after foreign workers in the province who are interested in becoming permanent residents of Canada.
BC PNP has two migration streams, Skills Immigration and Express Entry, both of which are subdivided into subcategories. These streams are managed under the BC Skills Immigration Registration (SIRS) registration system. In order to apply through SIRS, you must first register an account. Once this is done, you will be assigned a grade based on factors like education, work experience and language skills.
Candidates with the highest score from each sub-category are invited to apply for a provincial candidacy to apply for permanent residency when British Columbia holds one of its regular lotteries.
If you have received an order, you will have 30 days from the order date to submit a full application through the BC PNP online system.
After submitting a full BC PNP application package you will be notified of the county decision within about two to three months. If your appointment is successful, you become eligible to apply for Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship of Canada (IRCC) for permanent resident status under the Provincial Candidates Department.
The appointment is valid for about six months from the date of approval of the application.
As a provincial candidate, you may receive an additional 600 points under the CRS so you have a high enough score to receive an ITA invitation during the next Federal Express Entry Lottery.
