The public transportation app and website provider Passenger was recognized at this year’s Tech South West Awards, and was named the winner in the ‘Dorset Cluster’ category.

The Cluster Awards were developed by Tech South West to celebrate great technology initiatives and organizations throughout the Southwest, particularly in local technology cluster areas. The passenger said the win attests to its extraordinary growth as a business in Dorset since its first launch in 2015. The company was born out of CEO Tom Kwai’s vision to make public transport a first option for anyone traveling in the UK. Today, the company works with 84 bus operators – equivalent to 24% of the UK market – and its technological solutions connect 7,448 buses across the UK.

Tom said: “We are proud to be recognized for our work as part of Dorset’s thriving technology community, which brings innovative technological solutions to public transport operators across the country. Our growth is indicative of the difference our products have made to date for both transport operators and their customers. “In changing outdated perceptions of public transport. We are incredibly lucky to work with so many hardworking operators and our success today is shared with each and every one of them.”
Among the operators it works with, Passengers has cited the Go-Ahead Group as a notable collaboration, working with the group’s operator basket to offer customers efficient ticket purchase options and real-time travel information.
